Activities of people using mobile internet browsing is still dominated compared to other activities, such as e-mail or social networking.

Nokia acquires Novarra, Strengthen its Mobile Web Browser

The world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia, strengthen the web browser features for mobile device with the acquisition of Novarra, a developer of web browser for mobile device which is based in Chicago.

“Mobile browsers and Novarra-made services platform will be used to provide a better internet experience on Nokia mobile phones,” Nokia said in the press release after the acquisition last week.

Novarra browser named Vision supports Flash content and video, complex HTML with JavaScript and AJAX, RSS, and widgets. Other features are also as sophisticated as other desktop browser as fit the screen options, zooming, scrolling, and password management.

Until now Novarra browser has been used in many different cell phone vendors including Nokia, Motorola, LTE, Kyocera, and Motorola. Novarra browser was developed for GSM and CDMA based devices.
