This is currently the age of the tablet PCs and it all started with the launch of the Apple iPad. However, it has to be noted that there have been many number of tablet PCs over the years before the launch of the Apple iPad. Similarly, there have been many companies that have been making tablet PCs and HP is one of the companies that is well known for making tablet PCs and laptops around the world. After seeing the stupendous success of the tablet PC’s lately, HP has decided to once again re-enter into the tablet PC segment and the HP TouchPad is the Tablet PC that will be launched in a few weeks.
The HP TouchPad is a tablet PC that sticks to the tradition of the Apple iPad by using the 9.7 inch touch screen display. It is exactly similar in size to the Apple iPad’s display and this has been unanimously voted as the best screen size for a tablet PC. Not only does this screen size permit a lot of portability, but it is widely acknowledged to be the best when it comes to satisfying a wide range of functions that you can do on a tablet PC nowadays. Such functions will include the likes of playing high definition games or high definition movies. The HP TouchPad will be using a screen that has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It is capacitive and hence, it will be supporting the multi-touch actions.
The HP TouchPad is a tablet PC that will not be running on the Android operating system like many of the tablet PCs that have been launched recently. Instead, it will be running on the WebOS operating system that is normally featured in HP Tablet PCs. The version 3.0 operating system will be used in this new tablet PC. This will be run by the dual core QUALCOMM processor that is rated at 1.2 GHz. This is easily much faster than the Motorola XOOM, which has been launched recently claiming to be the best and fastest tablet PC. The 1.2 GHz processor in this easily overtakes the 1 GHz processor in the Motorola. The HP TouchPad will be coming with a 1.3 megapixel camera that is best suited for video calling and video conferencing. One can make use of the plenty of connectivity features at the disposal to use the Internet to make such calls.
The connectivity features in the HP TouchPad also includes the GPS option as well. The presence of the powerful processor has meant that the Google maps application will be run in the best possible way. The 3-D effects in the maps will also be excellent unlike many other Tablet PCs, which regularly suffer from lagging issues. The HP TouchPad will be having a default memory of 32 GB, which is more than plenty for storing media files ranging from HD movies to songs and others. The HP TouchPad is getting ready for unveiling at the MWC.
